The primary objective of the Anna Foundation is to address the educational and social needs of rural children. The organisation reaches this objective by means of its 3 Rs Programme: Reading, Running and Righting. This programme is implemented daily on various farms and at various rural schools in the Western Cape, South Africa. The aim of the 3 Rs programme is to offer children life-long learning, and to build positive self-worth and self-respect.

Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) is a voluntary environmental sustainability scheme established by the South African wine industry in 1998. The 2000 vintage was the first to be certified under this schem Producers farm according to independently audited IPW guidelines that cover health and safety, minimising the use of sprays, monitoring water usage and recycling the maximum water possible, as well as protecting the natural habitat.

Vinpro Foundation is a non-profit organisation which was established in 2013 by Vinpro. The Foundation was established to assist Vinpro, the South African wine industry and the greater agricultural sector to fund meaningful programmes primarily in the rural areas or to benefit rural communities and economies.

The Foundation has since positioned itself as a reliable investment vehicle for businesses to meet their Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) targets specifically in the Socio-Economic (SED), Skills (SD) and Enterprise Development (ED) elements.

The main emphasis of the Pebbles Project is education. The project enriches the lives of disadvantaged children and families in the winelands farming communities of the Western Cape. The team focuses on the entire life of the child and the challenging circumstances in which they live in order to make a significant and lastig difference. Since its inception in 2004, Pebbles has impacted the lives of children and their families by providing support and intervention in fie key areas: Education, Health, Nutrition, Community and Protection.

As of May 2018, the Pinotage Youth Development Academy (PYDA) has graduated 162 work-ready South African youth into the wine and fruit industries, and related sectors such as tourism, since its inception in 2013. At its core, the academy develops 18- to 25-year-old talented, previously disadvantaged South Africans for employment. Employment levels at six months after graduation are at over 90%, indicating the calibre of the graduates and relevance of the programme content.

The Wine and Agricultural Ethical Trading Association (WIETA) is a multi-stakeholder, non-profit voluntary organisation which actively promotes ethical trade in the wine industry value chain through training, technical assessment and audits to assess members’ compliance with its code of good practice. Stakeholders include producers, trade unions, non-governmental organisations and the government.

WWF-SA provides advisory support to eligible and committed wine farms as part of a land and water stewardship programme. Through a voluntary membership model, the organisation works with the environmental leaders in South Africa’s wine industry, known as the Conservation Champions. These landowners commit to biodiversity-friendly farming practices, conserve their natural areas and continually improve their water and energy efficiencies
